Basic Endoscopy Skills Training (BEST) Upper GI Endoscopy Workshop 2024

The Basic Endoscopy Skills Training (BEST) workshop, now in its 5th year, continues to set higher standards! This foundational endoscopy skills training combines mastery learning, deliberate practice, and constructive feedback through simulation.
This initiative owes its success to the tireless efforts of the Philippine Society of Digestive Endoscopy’s Committee on Basic and Advanced Endoscopy Training, in collaboration with the Academy of Endoscopy, led by Prof. Roy Soetikno.
We are deeply grateful to our esteemed international faculty who joined us this year: Dr. Parit Mekaroonkamol, Dr. Wen-Feng Hsu, Dr. Rabbinu Rangga, Dr. Saskia Aziza, and Dr. Virly Muzellina. A heartfelt thanks also to our dedicated local faculty: Dr. Patricia Anne Cabral-Prodigalidad, Dr. Mark Anthony De Lusong, Dr. Eric Yasay, Dr. Carlos Paolo Francisco, Dr. Enrik John Aguila, Dr. Marc JuliusNavarro, Dr. Ruter Maralit, and Dr. Jonard Co.
This success is equally shared with the 41 trainees from 22 GI training institutions, whose active participation made the workshop even more impactful. Our trainees are fortunate to benefit from the wealth of knowledge and experience imparted by the BEST team.
We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who contributed to the workshop’s success, including trainers Dr. Sujata May Mansukhani and Dr. Lou Camille Jalbuena, the secretariat, technical team, endoscopy staff, sponsors, industry partners, and all those behind the scenes who ensured everything ran seamlessly.
Lastly, we are grateful for the ongoing support from the Philippine Society of Gastroenterology and St. Luke’s Medical Center – Bonifacio Global City, Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases, both under the leadership of Dr. Ian Homer Cua, for making this event highly anticipated year after year.
We are confident that this workshop will leave a lasting impact, continuously shaping the way we teach and practice endoscopy. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year!
